To conclude the Plato curriculum's Drama unit, my eighth graders adapted a fable into play format. Of course, one of the most popular choices was "The Ass in the Lion's Skin," mostly because of Aesop's character choices. The students got a big kick over writing the Ass's name in the project. Sometimes, it's whatever can hook them.
