To conclude the persuasive techniques unit with 7th grade, students completed a coding project. Using code.org, students created their own flappy bird game. The project was free and was completed in one class period. Upon completion, students received a web address for everyone to play the newly created game.
After students created their games, they had to create an advertisement using our studied persuasive techniques. The ads were then distributed around the class. We played everyone's games and voted on our favorites. It was a fun way to review persuasive techniques while including a coding activity into the classroom. The students had an awesome time and completed work they were excited to share!
Teaching lessons learned and shared by the Middle School teacher.
